For several years, I struggled with Nursing. I chose the profession after 6 years of serving the United States as a Medic in the Army. I loved that job and decided to pursue nursing to compound my knowledge and experience of point of injury care.
However, nursing was not nearly the same.
Shift after shift, week after week, month after month, I would head for home after 12+ hours of Emergency Department work feeling anything from unsure to frustrated to downright angry about the previous night.
I chose writing as a creative outlet to express my frustrations, and it didn’t take long before the pages piled en masse.
I searched the internet for a publishing company to help me turn the pages into something good. I found a couple of guys at Streamline who were able to help me realize my vision.
The result is my book Get A Pulse: An Emergency Nurse on Burnout and Breakdown.
